Mike Veeck joined the show to discuss the 30th-year anniversary of "Disco Demolition Night" at Comiskey Park in Chicago. Here is the New York Times story on that fabled night.

Veeck said that he can't understand why pundits called it a "riot." He said if you've been in a real riot, you would know the difference.

Veeck said it all started because he really hated disco. And he hooked up with the right radio guys to get everyone fired up. Veeck said K.C. and the Sunshine Band and the Bee Gees were the big losers.

Veeck did say it became only the fourth time in MLB history a game had to be forfeited. Veeck was 28 at the time and felt bad. But his dad, the brilliant Bill Veeck who owned the team, said "sometimes these things work too well."

Veeck said that he's had some other "notable" promotions since then. Vasectomy night and mimes replacing instant replay.
