Former Colts coach Tony Dungy joined the show to discuss the state of NFL. Here are some of Dungy's takes ...
-- Dungy thinks that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell should reinstate Michael Vick.
"I tend to agree with Terrell Owens on this," Dungy said. "I feel like he's missed 32 games already and missed a ton of money."
Dungy has spoken with Vick and has a sense of where the quarterback is ...
"He's really just trying to get back in the league," Dungy said of Vick. "I think that's what he missed more than anything else."
-- Dungy isn't sure where Vick will end up. "My sense is that there's not going to be that many opportunities," Dungy said. "Not all that many teams need quarterbacks."
-- Dungy thinks his former team, Indianapolis, would be a great spot for Vick if the Colts weren't all set at quarterback. "I think Indianapolis would be a great spot in many ways," Dungy said. "If Michael played another position, I would have called [Colts coach] Jim Caldwell.
-- Dungy said Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has to sit down with Ben Roethlisberger and ask him if allegations against him are true. Dungy said if it's not true, then Tomlin should defend him. But if it's true, they need to have a consistent strategy.
-- Dungy said Brad Childress has to get Brett Favre in there because he's already got the message out there that he's not satisfied with the quarterback situation. Dungy said brining Vick into Minnesota makes some sense as well. "If I were them, I would certainly pursue it with Vick," Dungy said. |
