NBC analyst Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about the Patriots-Colts rivalry and NFL Week 10.
Dungy confirmed what he said last week on Football Night in America, that Michael Vick and his people did talk to Buffalo in the offseason. But Dungy wanted to make it clear that he has no new information. Dungy just thinks that Buffalo would be a good fit for the quarterback.
Dungy had interesting comments on the Colts-Patriots rivalry. Dungy said there was no hatred (with the possible exception of Rodney Harrison). "We always admired the way New England did things," Dungy said.
Dungy said the key on both sides is pressuring the quarterback. The Colts have to protect Peyton Manning and they have to pressure Tom Brady. Dungy said that the Colts have a lot of weapons and the Pats can't stop most of them in one-on-one situations. If Indianapolis is leading at the end of the first quarter, Dungy thinks the Colts should win.
Dungy also weighed in on Jay Cutler in Chicago. Dungy said he's surprised how well Cutler has played, because the Bears would be in even worse shape without him.
On a side note, Dan asked Dungy if his former teammate Joe Greene was really mean. "By the time I got there, he wasn't," Dungy said. "He was definitely the commander in chief of the locker room." |
