Fantasy Player Projections

Minnesota Vikings
Superdome | Monday, October 06 | 8:30 p.m. EST (ESPN)
Pick: Saints 30, Vikings 27
New Orleans Saints
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBGus Frerotte
210 pass yards, 1 pass TD, 1 INT
Frerotte was knocked out of Sunday's loss at Tennessee with a cut to his left hand, but he will be ready to start on Monday night at New Orleans. Frerotte has thrown for 470 yards and one TD during his two starts, but he's just not fantasy worthy at this point. Keep him on your bench this week even though New Orleans ranks 29th against the pass.
RBAdrian Peterson
4 rec, 20 rec yards, 120 rush yards, 2 rush TD
Peterson had his first multi-TD game of 2008 last week at Tennessee as he rushed for 80 yards and two TDs in the 30-17 loss. He had TD runs of 28 yards and 3 yards and now has four TDs on the season. The Saints rank 29th against the run, so look for A.P. to have another solid game in Week 5.
RBChester Taylor
3 rec, 20 rec yards, 20 rush yards
Taylor had a season-low one carry for no yards last week at Tennessee. He was supposed to be a big part of last week's offense with Adrian Peterson banged up, but that wasn't the case. He now has only 28 carries in four games and can't be considered as a Flex-play starter in Week 5 at New Orleans.
WRBobby Wade
3 rec, 35 yards
After collecting just six catches during the first three weeks, Wade busted through last week at Tennessee, catching seven passes for 75 yards. Six of the seven catches came after halftime when the Vikings tried to rally from behind, so don't expect similar results this week, especially if Sidney Rice can get back in the lineup.
WRBernard Berrian
5 rec, 80 yards, 1 TD
Berrian has yet to score for the Vikings, but over the last two weeks he has eight catches for 157 yards. He had a season-high five catches last week at Tennessee for 78 yards as he seems to be a much better fantasy option with Frerotte at QB. Keep him in your lineup this week as he could find the end zone for the first time in 2008.
WRSidney Rice
1 rec, 10 yards
Rice remains hobbled by a knee injury and had just one catch for six yards last week at Tennessee. He isn't fantasy worthy until he can get 100 percent healthy and that won't happen anytime soon. Cut ties with him if you can.
TEVisanthe Shiancoe
3 rec, 30 yards
Shiancoe had a season-high four catches for 47 yards last week at Tennessee and remains a worthy backup fantasy tight end. If the bye week has your starter idle in Week 5, Shiancoe should garner a few points for your team.
KRyan Longwell
3 PATs, 2 FGs
If you take out a 15-point Week 2 performance, Ryan Longwell is averaging less than 7 points per game. Still, this is a good matchup for him on MNF in a dome.
Defense
2 sacks, 1 INT
The Vikings rank sixth in total defense and third against the run, but they also have just six takeaways and seven sacks in four games. That's not exactly what was expected from one of the top fantasy defenses in '08.
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBDrew Brees
290 pass yards, 3 pass TD, 1 INT
Brees has had three monster games thus far, topping 340 yards three times with a total of 8 TDs. He threw for 363 yards and three TDs last week in the 31-17 win over San Francisco and now faces a Vikings' passing defense that ranks 17th in the league. Nothing will come easy this week, but you can count on Brees finding a way to put up big numbers at home on Monday Night Football.
RBReggie Bush
9 rec, 75 rec yards, 1 rec TD, 25 rush yards
Bush was a non-factor in last week's win against San Francisco as he gained just 31 yards on 10 carries and 7 yards on 5 receptions. The Saints will struggle to run the ball against the Vikings this week, so look for Bush to get more involved this week on passing situations. Don't give up on Reggie just yet, although those rushing totals will be very ugly this week.
RBDeuce McAllister
1 rec, 10 rec yards, 50 rush yards
McAllister found his way back into the Saints' starting lineup and invigorated the rushing game as he carried 20 times for 73 yards. The Saints want to use him the same way this week against Minnesota, but the Vikings rank third against the rush and allow less than 72 yards per game. This is a bad matchup for Deuce, so don't be afraid to keep him on your reserve roster for Week 5.
WRLance Moore
7 rec, 90 yards, 1 TD
Moore was the top free agent pickup last week and he came through with seven catches for 101 yards and two TDs vs. San Francisco. It was his second 7-catch game in a row and he seems to have found his role as a slot receiver. He will be a great starting option as long as Marques Colston is out of the lineup and he should still have value even after Colston returns. Start him this week and expect another big week.
WRRobert Meachem
2 rec, 65 yards, 1 TD
Meachem has only five catches in three games this season, but he's averaging 40.8 yards per catch and has two TDs. The LSU product caught a 47-yard TD strike from Brees last week and added a 52-yard reception to finish with a career-best 99 yards. Look for lightening to strike for a third straight week against Minnesota on MNF.
TEBilly Miller
4 rec, 40 yards
With Jeremy Shockey sidelined last week, Miller came through with three catches for 30 yards. He won't put up superstar numbers, but Miller will continue to put up numbers like he did in Week 4.
KMartin Gramatica
3 PATs, 3 FGs
Gramatica has only 25 points in four games, but this could be his best game of the season at home on MNF.
Defense
1 sack, 1 INT
The Saints have seven takeaways and 10 sacks in four games and will need to stop the run first before worrying about the Vikings' passing game.
