Pennington has been the leader of the resurgent Dolphins this year as he's completed 67% of his passes for 3,453 yards and 17 TDs. Pennington was at his best last week in the 38-31 win at Kansas City, completing 26-of-34 passes for 234 yards and three TDs. He now has thrown six TD passes in the last three games and has had two 3-TD games in the last five games. In the Week 1 20-14 loss to the Jets, Pennington completed 26-of-43 passes for 251 yards and two TDs. The former Jet would like nothing more than to beat his old team to win the AFC East Division title and he should have another big game as the Jets rank 29th in the NFL vs. the pass.
The Dolphins had a pass-oriented attack last week at Kansas City and will likely have the same game-plan this week at New York as the Jets rank seventh in the NFL against the run. Brown was limited to just eight carries last week for 32 yards, while adding five catches for 21 yards, and in the Week 1 loss to the Jets he had just 23 yards rushing and three receptions for 28 yards. Look for Brown to be a big part of the passing attack again this week as the Dolphins try to win through the air.
Williams had more carries than Ronnie Brown last week at Kansas City (12 for 34 yards and a TD) and was a big part of the passing game as he caught six passes for 50 yards. He will again be featured in the passing game, but he's too hit-or-miss each week for fantasy owners to count on him in Week 17.
Bess continues to be the most consistent wideout for the Dolphins down the stretch as he again led the way last week with six catches for 57 yards. Bess now has 29 catches in his last five games, but he still hasn't found the end zone yet this year. He's a worthy play again this week in Point Per Reception leagues because the Jets' pass defense has been brutal recently.
Ginn Jr. now has more rushing TDs than receiving TDs after turning a perfectly executed end around into a 31-yard TD last week at Kansas City. Ginn now has two rushing TDs and one receiving TD this year. He had four catches for 44 yards last week against the Chiefs and was limited to just two catches for 17 yards in the Week 1 loss to New York. A lot has changed since then, however, and Ginn should have a slightly better game this week as the Dolphins try to win the divisional title.
Fasano started the season with a big game against the Jets, catching eight passes for 84 yards and a TD, and last week he had another big game at Kansas City as he caught three passes for 47 yards and two TDs. He scored on a pair of 14-yard TD catches and now has six TD receptions on the season. Look for Fasano to play another big role this week as the Jets pass 35+ times this week at the Meadowlands.
Martin caught a TD pass for the second straight week as he caught an 11-yard TD pass from Chad Pennington at Kansas City. He's been a solid target the last two weeks, but he can't be counted on again in Week 17 as he's no better than the fifth or sixth option in this passing attack.
The Dolphins' defense was again a fantasy wonder last week at Kansas City, forcing four turnovers (3 INTs) and collecting three sacks. The Dolphins now have 40 sacks on the season and 31 forced turnovers.
Favre was awful last week at Seattle and he's been awful down the stretch for the Jets as they've lost three of their last four games. Favre has thrown at least one INT in each of the last five games and he has just one TD pass and six INTs in his last four games. He completed only 18-of-31 passes for 187 yards and two ugly INTs last week in the disappointing 13-3 loss at Seattle, but was stellar in the Week 1 win at Miami, completing 15-of-22 passes for 194 yards and two TDs. Look for the Jets to put this game on Favre's shoulders as the Dolphins rank 25th vs. the pass and this time Favre will come through.
Jones had his team-record of at least one TD in eight straight games snapped last week when he was shut out at Seattle. Jones finished with 67 yards on 17 carries and 29 yards on three receptions, but never came close to the goal-line in the snow. He scored the first of his 13 TDs in the Week 1 win at Miami as he rushed for 101 yards and a score, and he will have another productive game this week against a stout Dolphins' run defense that ranks 10th in the NFL.
The Jets have been unable to get Washington into the offense the last two weeks and it's hurt them big-time. Washington had only three carries for 14 yards last week at Seattle and has only five touches in the last two games. That's inexcusable as Washington is the team's big play threat. Look for Washington to be more involved in the passing game this week and to even make the big play that wins this game for the Jets.
Cotchery was Favre's favorite target last week at Seattle as he caught six passes for 81 yards. He started the season with three catches for 80 yards and a TD at Miami and should be very involved in the offense this week as the Jets will throw 25+ teams against a suspect Dolphins' pass defense.
Coles has now gone four straight games without a TD catch after he was held to five catches for 60 yards last week at Seattle. He's dealing with a thigh injury, but will start and contribute as the Jets are expected to pass more than they run this week.
The Jets have struggled badly the last three weeks and part of the reason is that Favre has been unable to connect with rookie Keller on the short, safe routes. Defenses are prepared for those curl routes and Keller has been held to just six catches for 51 yards over the last three games. He had just one catch for two yards last week at Seattle, but will be a big part of the offense this week.
K Jay Feely has been unproductive the last four weeks as the Jets have struggled badly on offense. He had just one field goal last week at Seattle and now has scored just 17 points in the last four games. Expect slightly better numbers this week against the Dolphins.
The Jets' defense has been fabulous for fantasy owners this year, but last week at Seattle it had no sacks, although it did force two fumbles. The Jets have 40 sacks and 41 forced turnovers this year and will be the deciding factor again this week at home.
