Fantasy Player Projections

Detroit Lions
Soldier Field | Sunday, October 04 | 1:00 p.m. EST (FOX)
Pick: Bears 20, Lions 10
Chicago Bears
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBMatthew Stafford
180 pass yards, 1 pass TD, 15 rush yards, 2 INT
The rookie has surprised fantasy pundits with an uncommonly steady start. But he'll have his hands full all day long with one of the league's stingiest defensive units.
RBKevin Smith
3 rec, 15 rec yards, 80 rush yards
Smith was injured in the third quarter against the Redskins and could cede time to second-stringer Maurice Morris in Week 4. Monitor the situation.
WRCalvin Johnson
5 rec, 95 yards, 1 TD
Detroit's undisputed No. 1 wideout is a must-start every week.
WRBryant Johnson
4 rec, 40 yards
Johnson has caught eight balls for 118 yards and a touchdown this season. But due to his inconsistency, you'd be wise to play him only when the matchup is favorable. That means you should probably sit him against the Bears.
WRDennis Northcutt
1 rec, 10 yards
A deep sleeper entering the season. In a deep sleep during it. Do not start.
TEWill Heller
2 rec, 30 yards
Heller's modest contributions come too few and far between to have any fantasy utility.
KJason Hanson
1 PAT, 1 FG
Hanson remains a low-end No. 1 kicker thanks to Detroit's slowly improving offense.
Defense
1 sack, 0 INT, 1 Fumble
They surrender far too many points, through the air in particular. But they do generate a decent volume of points through turnovers and special teams.
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBJay Cutler
250 pass yards, 1 pass TD
Cutler is an advisable start in most circumstances. Against the Lions, he's a no-brainer.
RBMatt Forte
5 rec, 55 rec yards, 65 rush yards, 1 rush TD
A leg injury is hampering Forte, but he's expected to be ready for Sunday's game against the Lions. Owners are licking their chops for a breakout game after the sophomore's sluggish start.
WRDevin Hester
5 rec, 90 yards, 1 TD
Hester's fantasy stock is rising. Start him against the Lions and see if he can boost it even further.
WREarl Bennett
4 rec, 45 yards
Bennett is still a work in progress in Chicago. Start him against Detroit. Just remember he's not an advisable start against most teams.
WRJohnny Knox
2 rec, 20 yards
The Abilene Christian product is a burner and could become Cutler's home-run hitter. He's not there yet, but stash him away.
TEGreg Olsen
4 rec, 40 yards
Olsen has underachieved a tad from a fantasy standpoint. Don't give up on him yet, but it wouldn't hurt to think about your options in case Cutler never warms up to him
KRobbie Gould
2 PATs, 2 FGs
He's not the best fantasy option. But like most roto players, his value is boosted against an opponent as lowly as Detroit.
Defense
4 sacks, 2 INT, 1 Fumble
Even without Brian Urlacher, this is still an aggressive, point-scoring unit capable of giving your team a huge boost.
