Fantasy Player Projections

Kansas City Chiefs
Qualcomm Stadium | Sunday, November 29 | 4:05 p.m. EST (CBS)
Pick: Chargers 30, Chiefs 20
San Diego Chargers
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBMatt Cassel
140 pass yards, 1 pass TD
Cassel led the Chiefs to their second straight win in Week 11, this time over the defending champs. He went 15-of-30 for 248 yards and 2 TDs in the Chiefs' huge upset of the Steelers. Now that most of the byes are done, it's tough to imagine Cassel getting a whole lot of fantasy play. That said, the five games he's had with 2 TDs and 0 picks had to have helped somebody in America.
RBJamaal Charles
2 rec, 35 rec yards, 70 rush yards, 1 rush TD
The speedy young back had two TD against Pittsburgh -- one on a catch, the other on a kickoff return. The week prior, Charles had his first big game of the post-L.J. era with 18 carries for 103 yards and a TD and 4 catches for 14 yards against Oakland. He's a No. 2 fantasy RB against the Chargers 22nd-ranked run defense.
WRChris Chambers
4 rec, 80 yards, 1 TD
Man, was he good in Miami in '05 (82 catches, 1,118 yards, 11 TD). What happened to that guy? Well, it looks like he's replaced Dwayne Bowe while Bowe's out on a drug suspension. Chambers had 4 catches for 119 yards against Pittsburgh and 10 catches for 249 yards and a pair of scores in his three games as a Chief. He's a high-end No. 3 WR with upside.
TELeonard Pope
3 rec, 25 yards
The new Pope of Chief Nation had 2 catches for 26 yards and a TD against the Steelers, one week after taking the starting job from the inactive Sean Ryan. He is not going to factor into fantasy.
KRyan Succop
2 PATs, 2 FGs
Pronounced like it's spelled, Succop brown-nosed his way to a 2-for-2 game against Pittsburgh, including the game-winner in overtime. He is 16-for-20 on the season. 2009's Mr. Irrelevant ranks among the top eight in FGs and FGAs and is a pretty good start.
Defense
1 sack
They are the 25th-ranked D in the league in PPG and 30th in YPG even after a good hard-nosed win over the champs. You'd be crazy to start them against the potent Chargers.
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBPhilip Rivers
250 pass yards, 2 pass TD
Rivers was 17-of-22 for 145 yards against the Broncos with 1 TD and 0 INTs. The subpar statistical game is a result of the huge lead they built early. Rivers is the man. He's ninth in the league with 2,621 yards, having passed for less than 230 yards only twice. He is certainly an advisable No. 1 fantasy QB against a Chiefs' pass defense that is 28th in the league.
RBLaDainian Tomlinson
100 rush yards, 1 rush TD
Tomlinson didn't carry much down the stretch, but nonetheless had a nice game in the Chargers' romp over Denver. He had 20 carries for 73 yards and a TD, his fifth score in four games. One week before, LT had his best game of the year against the Eagles. Perhaps most important, LT looks like he regained the old explosiveness. He's a No. 2 RB against the Chiefs 27th-ranked run D.
RBDarren Sproles
3 rec, 25 rec yards, 20 rush yards
'Buttered' Sproles had minimal impact the last four weeks, not going over 45 total yards and fumbling twice. You shouldn't be playing him unless LT goes down.
WRVincent Jackson
5 rec, 110 yards, 1 TD
Jackson had a second consecutive meh effort with 4 catches for 56 yards, one week after catching just 1 ball for 10 yards and ending his TD streak at four games. He's still a top fantasy option, the ninth-ranked WR in the NFL with 788 yards (with 7 TDs). He's absolutely a No. 1 WR against the Chiefs 28th-ranked pass defense, which he previously blistered for 5 catches for 142 yards and a TD.
WRMalcom Floyd
2 rec, 45 yards
'Pink' Floyd nabbed 4 passes for 38 yards against the Broncos. He only has 20 catches on the year and minimal (if any) fantasy value, despite being their No. 2 WR with Chris Chambers no longer in the mix.
TEAntonio Gates
5 rec, 70 yards, 1 TD
Gates had 3 catches for 41 yards against Denver. Look for him to break that six-game scoreless streak against the Chiefs. He is a must-start fantasy option against K.C. and ranks second among TEs with 709 yards and fourth with 52 catches.
KNate Kaeding
3 PATs, 3 FGs
Kaeding went 4-for-4 at Invesco. He's 20-for-22 on the year, second in the NFL in makes and third in attempts. He's a recommended starter against K.C., having gone 3-for-4 against them in Week 6.
Defense
4 sacks, 1 Fumble
The San Diegoans ... San Diegans ... Chargers' defense has been average all year (15th in PPG, 14th in YPG), despite a great game against Denver earlier in the year. Nevertheless, they're a great start here.
