Hasselbeck completed 19-of-26 passes for 231 yards with 1 INT. Before that game, he had two consecutive 300-yard performances which followed a nice start against Dallas, in which he went 22-for-39 for 249 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INT. He's a lower-tier No. 1 fantasy option, and a good flex option against the 24th-ranked Rams pass defense.
Someone spent a lot of fantasy dollars for that 9-carry, 9-yard performance by Justin 'Tony' Forsett against the Vikes. Yeesh. He did, however, get in the end zone and catch 8 balls for 80 yards, so it wasn't all bad. He had a career-high 17 carries for 123 yards and 1 TD against the Cards the week before. If he plays for Julius Jones again (which he's expected to), expect another good game.
Housh had just 4 catches for 36 yards against the Vikings. It was the fourth time in five games he failed to reach 40 yards. The only aberration was two weeks ago in a 9-catch, 165-yard game against the Cardinals, one week after he publicly clamored for more touches. He's a No. 2 fantasy option, slightly better in PPR leagues as he's seventh in the NFL with 50 catches.
Nice afternoon for Burl 'Ives,' who got to the century mark for the second time this year in a 6-catch, 100-yard outing. The week before, he had an ohfer hung on him by the Arizona corners. He had 13 catches for 164 yards the two games before that. He's 11th in the league in catches, a No. 3 WR on a team that throws the ball a lot.
'Crazy' Carlson got shut out against the Vikes. He was targeted 4 times and dropped a two-point conversion. Carlson has been serviceable at best. He is 13th among TEs in catches and 12th in yardage. He's in that 12-14 range of tight ends, a bona fide No. 2. Who does number two work for? Not for a good fantasy team. These guys shouldn't play much after bye weeks are done.
Mare's been very good this year. He was 1-for-1 against Minnesota. He's a decent starting option, having gone 17-for-19 on the season for an inconsistent offense.
This Seabags' unit is mediocre at best (20th in YPG, 21th in PPG). They recorded two sacks against the Vikes, but didn't force a turnover and allowed 35 points and 431 yards. Stay away. Even against the Rams.
Boller will make his third start for Marc Bulger who got dinged up real good by the defending NFC champs. Besides probably suffering a concussion, Bulger seems to have suffered a fractured leg as well as strained groin and hammy. Boller has 2 TDs and 3 INTs in his three starts. He's not recommended.
The sky is the limit for S-Jax, who is second in the league in rushing (1,031 yards). He's had four straight games over 115 yards and has scored a TD in the last three. Against the Cards, Jackson went for 116 yards on 24 carries with a TD. He's a No. 1 option -- a legit every-down horse.
Avery had a second consecutive decent game against the Cards, catching 4 balls for 65 yards. The week before that, against New Orleans, he caught 4 balls for 67 yards and 2 TD. He's a decent No. 3 fantasy option against a Seahawks secondary that's been torched a few times.
Watch out for the Gibber. The rook was impressive in Eagles camp and made the team against long odds. He came over to St. Louis in the Will Witherspoon deal. He caught 5 balls for 61 yards against Arizona, being targeted a team-high 17 times (Avery was second with 7). He had 7 catches for 93 yards against the Saints the week before. Recommendation as a No. 3 fantasy WR.
