Fantasy Player Projections

Indianapolis Colts
Jacksonville Stadium | Thursday, December 17 | 8:20 p.m. EST (NFL)
Pick: Colts 21, Jaguars 20
Jacksonville Jaguars
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBPeyton Manning
275 pass yards, 2 pass TD, 1 INT
The future first ballot Hall of Famer failed to reach 300 yards for the fourth consecutive week and fifth time this season in Week 14, going 20-42 for 220 yards with four TDs and three INTs against the Broncos. Hard to say which concerns fantasy owners more -- the nine picks he's thrown the last five weeks or the fact that Indy's clinched home field throughout, so Manning may only play sparingly. Coach Jim Caldwell says that he'll play, so he's still a worthy start, even if his time is limited.
RBJoseph Addai
3 rec, 35 rec yards, 60 rush yards, 1 rush TD
Addai led the team in rushing and receiving with 16 carries for 67 yards and five catches for 49 yards against Denver. He's gotten in the end zone 13 times this year (nine rushing, three receiving, one passing). He's a higher end No. 2 fantasy RB, especially if Caldwell is true to his word and plays his starters for more than a few series.
WRReggie Wayne
4 rec, 55 yards, 1 TD
Like the other Colts' starters, Wayne probably won't play the whole game, but will play enough to be a recommended start because of this offense. Wayne had just four catches for 43 yards against the Broncos. It was his third straight average game. On the whole, Wayne's manners have been impeccable, second in the league in catches with 87. He's a No. 2 fantasy WR here.
WRPierre Garcon
5 rec, 60 yards
"Garcon! I'll take a one week hiatus from my breakout season, please ..." With just two catches for 39 yards vs. the Broncos, Garcon came back to earth following a six-catch, 136 yard performance against Tennessee. This was the first game since October that lucky Pierre -- made so much more valuable by his all-world QB -- went for under 50 yards. He's a recommended No. 2 fantasy WR this week and has 45 catches for 749 yards and four TDs this year.
WRAustin Collie
3 rec, 45 yards
This Collie was a good dog last Sunday, catching a Manning TD pass as one of his three receptions for 39 yards against Denver. He's caught five more balls and has two more TDs than Garcon this year but is still rated slightly lower than his fellow wideout with 200 fewer yards less this season overall. He's a No. 3 fantasy WR here.
TEDallas Clark
8 rec, 80 yards, 1 TD
Clark the Shark caught five passes for 43 yards and three TDs against Denver. Clark remains one of the top TEs in football. He now has 82 catches for 902 yards (first and second among TEs, respectively) with eight TDs. He is a must start each week, even with the potential rest he'll be getting against the Jags.
KMatt Stover
3 PATs
"The Hot" Stover is a replacement for Adam Vinatieri, who hurt his knee and will be returning soon (so they say). He didn't kick a FG against Denver, and is 9-for-11 as a Colt. He is a good starting option on one of the league's most potent offenses as long as he continues to play.
Defense
3 sacks, 1 Fumble
They gave up 357 yards and 16 points to the Broncos. They've played close games all year. They are the 19th-ranked unit in YPG yet second overall in PPG. They've recorded an INT in nine straight games. They're a low-level No. 1 D against a Jacksonville team that has more to play for than they do.
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBDavid Garrard
155 pass yards, 1 pass TD
Garrard laid an egg at home, going 11-26 for 139 yards with neither a TD nor a pick. He's 5-2 this year at home, with nine of his 10 TDs. He's a No. 2 fantasy QB, not really a recommended start against an Indy defense that held him to 122 yards earlier this year.
RBMaurice Jones-Drew
3 rec, 15 rec yards, 90 rush yards, 1 rush TD
Against Miami, MJD rushed 18 times for 59 yards and a TD. He also caught two passes for 24 yards. He's tied with Adrian Peterson for the NFL lead in rushing TDs with 14 and is fifth in rushing with 1,136 yards. He's a legitimate No. 1 fantasy RB and should be active in all formats.
WRTorry Holt
2 rec, 35 yards
Holt ".45" caught two balls for 71 yards against the Dolphins. He still hasn't gotten into the end zone yet in 2009 and is not a legit fantasy option.
WRMike Sims-Walker
4 rec, 55 yards, 1 TD
Sims-Walker has only caught two passes for 18 yards the last two weeks. His numbers this season are good (53 rec., 758 yards, six TDs) but he's playing hurt, and his QB is erratic. He is the Jags' No. 1 WR and a lower end No. 2 fantasy option against the Colts' 20th-ranked pass defense.
TEMarcedes Lewis
3 rec, 50 yards, 1 TD
Lewis had a two catches for 30 yards against Houston. He's 13th in yards among TE and is a poor choice in the playoffs. If he's your starting TE, you're not playing right now.
KJosh Scobee
3 PATs
Scobee "Snax" was one for one against Miami. He's just 16-for-24 this year, which isn't very good. Recommendation to avoid.
Defense
1 sack, 1 INT
A defense ranked 20th in PPG and YPG has had two pretty good weeks in a row. What do we always say about Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Tom Brady? Even if he just plays a half, he's liable to throw three TDs.
