Fantasy Player Projections

DEFENSE
RankTeamProjectionOpponent
1Cincinnati Bengals
4 sacks, 2 INT, 1 Fumble
The Bengals are a decent play this week against an offense devoid of weapons in both the running and passing games.
vsTampa Bay Buccaneers
2San Diego Chargers
4 sacks, 2 INT, 1 Fumble
San Diego's defense has put up a lot of fantasy points thanks to 15 sacks and 11 turnovers. Expect another big outing this week against a wounded Raiders offense.
atOakland Raiders
3New Orleans Saints
2 sacks, 2 INT, 2 Fumbles
New Orleans is not forcing turnovers at the same rate they did a year ago, but they are a strong option this week against a Cardinals team with serious quarterback issues.
atArizona Cardinals
4Baltimore Ravens
4 sacks, 2 INT, 1 Fumble
The Broncos' passing offense has been prolific through four games, and will give an overperforming Ravens' secondary a big test this week. There will be lots of interception opportunities too, however.
vsDenver Broncos
5Chicago Bears
3 sacks, 2 INT, 1 Fumble
The Bears did a good job slowing down the run for the first three weeks, but they did not face a single strong rushing attack. The Giants gashed them for 191 yards last week, which could be a bad sign against a run-first Carolina offense.
atCarolina Panthers
6New York Jets
3 sacks, 2 INT, 1 Fumble
The Jets defense will get both Darrelle Revis and Calvin Pace back this week, and they face a team that has struggled on offense early this year. Randy Moss is a huge variable, but it may take him at least a week or two to get fully involved in the offense.
vsMinnesota Vikings
7Tennessee Titans
4 sacks, 1 INT, 1 Fumble
Tennessee is tied for first in the league with 16 sacks, which has helped make up for the fact they have forced just seven turnovers. Expect a decent outing this week against the Cowboys.
atDallas Cowboys
8New York Giants
5 sacks, 1 INT
The Giants showed in Week 4 that their pass rush can control a game. They could have another big week against a Houston team that is without its starting left tackle.
atHouston Texans
9Jacksonville Jaguars
3 sacks, 1 INT, 1 Fumble
It's the movable force meeting the stoppable object. The Jaguars haven't done a lot to limit opponents either in the passing or running game. Then again, the Bills strike fear into no one.
atBuffalo Bills
10Green Bay Packers
3 sacks, 1 INT, 1 Fumble
Washington's offense has been up-and-down this season; and despite allowing 28 points last week, the Packers defense was still productive in Week 4 thanks mainly to a Charles Woodson pick-six. Continue using this ball-hawking unit.
atWashington Redskins
11Indianapolis Colts
3 sacks, 1 INT, 1 Fumble
The Colts are struggling to control the run game this season, and the Chiefs have one of the better ground games in the league. The Colts offense could help out the defense in a big way by scoring early and forcing the Chiefs to throw.
vsKansas City Chiefs
12Philadelphia Eagles
3 sacks, 2 INT
The 49ers offense has not looked good this season, so count on a productive week from the Eagles defense.
atSan Francisco 49ers
13Atlanta Falcons
3 sacks, 1 INT, 1 Fumble
Cleveland's offense isn't very daunting, especially through the air. Atlanta will be a safe play this week.
atCleveland Browns
14San Francisco 49ers
3 sacks, 2 INT
San Francisco's defense was very productive in Week 4, but they had not done much up to that point. They are available if you need them and have no faith in Kevin Kolb's abilities.
vsPhiladelphia Eagles
15Dallas Cowboys
2 sacks, 1 INT, 1 Fumble
Dallas' defense has not done much in terms of fantasy production in three games, and they will get to face Chris Johnson this week. The Cowboys are not the worst option, but use a more productive unit if available.
vsTennessee Titans
16Minnesota Vikings
2 sacks, 1 INT, 1 Fumble
The Vikings defense has given up 32 points in three games this season. The Jets offense is hot, but the Vikings are playing at home this week and coming off a bye. Feel free to use them this week.
atNew York Jets
17Buffalo Bills
2 sacks, 1 INT, 1 Fumble
The Bills remain the only team without an interception this season, and are giving up over 30 points a game. The Jaguars' offense is bad, but the Bills' defense may be worse.
vsJacksonville Jaguars
18Carolina Panthers
3 sacks, 1 INT
The Panthers' defense has not been that bad considering the offense is a walking three-and-out. Unfortunately, without offensive support, the Panthers cannot be considered a viable fantasy option.
vsChicago Bears
19Denver Broncos
1 sack, 1 INT, 1 Fumble
Baltimore's offense isn't very scary as a whole, but there should be a better defensive matchup to play this week. The Ravens may have to play a hobbled Ray Rice and Willis McGahee, which would make defending the run game much easier.
atBaltimore Ravens
20St. Louis Rams
1 sack, 2 INT
The Rams have performed well above defensive expectations so far, but keep in mind that they have yet to face an elite offense. The Lions seem to be clicking offensively, and should present a one of the stiffer challenges the Rams have seen.
atDetroit Lions
21Houston Texans
3 sacks, 1 INT
Houston's defense will benefit from the return of Brian Cushing, but they have not been disruptive enough up to this point to warrant a start this week.
vsNew York Giants
22Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2 sacks, 1 INT
The Bucs have been solid on defense this season, but have faced some pretty poor offenses in Cleveland, Carolina and a Roethlisberger-less Pittsburgh. Cincinnati will provide a much stiffer challenge.
atCincinnati Bengals
23Detroit Lions
2 sacks, 1 INT
The Rams' offense is performing better than anyone would have expected. Meanwhile the Lions defense has met everybody's expectations, which is to say, they've been bad. There are a lot of better options available.
vsSt. Louis Rams
24Oakland Raiders
2 sacks, 1 Fumble
Oakland's defense has just seven sacks and five turnovers this season. They face an efficient Chargers offense this week, so stay away.
vsSan Diego Chargers
25Washington Redskins
3 sacks
The Redskins struggle to stop the pass, so avoid using them against Aaron Rodgers' aerial assault.
vsGreen Bay Packers
26Cleveland Browns
1 sack, 1 Fumble
Cleveland isn't worth fantasy consideration most weeks, especially not against a Falcons offense that is moving the ball well at the moment.
vsAtlanta Falcons
27Kansas City Chiefs
1 Fumble
The Chiefs' defense has been solid this season, but the Colts should provide plenty of headaches. It may be best to stay clear of Kansas City this week.
atIndianapolis Colts
28Arizona Cardinals
1 sack
The Cardinals defense is not doing much and faces the high-powered Saints this week, so avoid using them.
vsNew Orleans Saints
