Fantasy Player Projections

San Francisco 49ers
Bank of America Stadium | Sunday, October 24 | 1:00 p.m. EST (FOX)
Pick: 49ers 21, Panthers 7
Carolina Panthers
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBAlex Smith
175 pass yards, 2 pass TD, 10 rush yards, 2 INT
Smith has had his best two games of the season the last couple weeks, but he is still shakey and a risky option against a Panthers team that is fifth in the league in pass defense.
RBFrank Gore
4 rec, 40 rec yards, 100 rush yards, 1 rush TD
The Panthers are giving up over 134 rushing yards per game, so expect another productive outing from Gore this week.
WRMichael Crabtree
4 rec, 55 yards, 1 TD
Crabtree had another decent performance last week. He is worth a start in Week 7.
WRJosh Morgan
2 rec, 20 yards
Morgan is not a very good option this week against a Panthers defense that is giving up just over 182 passing yards per game.
WRTed Ginn Jr.
2 rec, 20 yards
Ginn has caught just four passes for 29 yards in his last two games, so look elsewhere tin Week 7.
TEVernon Davis
3 rec, 40 yards, 1 TD
Davis has scored a touchdown in three straight games and is third among tight ends in receiving yards. He was banged up but should be ready to play.
KJoe Nedney
3 PATs
Nedney has scored just 25 points in six games this year, so go with a kicker who is putting up points more consistently.
Defense
3 sacks, 2 INT, 1 Fumble
The 49ers defense has been only average this season, but they are a sleeper option this week against the league's lowest-ranked offense.
Pos.PlayerProjection
QBMatt Moore
100 pass yards, 2 INT
Moore will re-assume the starting role this week coming off the team's bye. He has not proven to be any better than fellow QB Jimmy Clausen this season, so use other options this week.
RBDeAngelo Williams
1 rush TD
Williams has rushed for more than 64 yards just once this season, and he faces a 49ers team in Week 7 that has given up just three rushing touchdowns in six games. He is a viable option if you need him, but don't expect a huge stat line.
RBJonathan Stewart
1 rec, 10 rec yards, 20 rush yards
Stewart has ran for a total of only 119 yards this season, so it is best to use another option until he starts to get things going in the running game.
WRSteve Smith
5 rec, 70 yards
Smith's status for Week 7 has yet to be determined. He is worth a start if he plays, so be sure to monitor his status if you are considering using him.
WRDavid Gettis
2 rec, 20 yards
Gettis has assumed a starting receiver in Carolina, but he has caught just 10 passes over his last four games. The 49ers have a decent pass defense, so look for other options this week.
TEDante Rosario
1 rec, 10 yards
Rosario has not caught more than two passes or recorded more than 17 yards in his last three games, so do not consider using him this week.
KJohn Kasay
1 PAT
Kasay's opportunities have been limited by the Panthers' inability to move the ball.
Defense
1 sack, 2 INT
The Panthers defense is giving up 22 points per game and is not producing at the same level of other defenses around the league. 49ers QB Alex Smith should be good for a couple of picks, though.
