  Gonzalez will not be in the starting lineup Sunday, the Denver Post reports.

  Gonzalez is in the midst of a 4-for-34 slump, plus the Rockies are facing lefty Patrick Corbin on Sunday.

• 04/27/13 - 5:39PM ETAdrian Gonzalez : Scratched Saturday With Skin Infection

  The Dodgers scratched Gonzalez from Saturday's lineup because of a skin infection on his leg.

  He left the stadium to receive treatment, but he should return before the end of the game. He could play in Saturday's game as a late-inning sub, or the Dodgers could hold him out until Sunday.

• 04/27/13 - 5:20PM ETGavin Floyd : Elbow Flexor Strain

  The injury that knocked Floyd from Saturday's game is being called an elbow flexor strain, Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune reports.

  A similar injury resulted in a DL stint last year for Floyd, so we would predict he will be headed there once again. The length of that assignment will be unknown until the team examines him further, but Floyd owners should be ready to snatch Hector Santiago from the waiver wire.

• 04/27/13 - 5:08PM ETJean Segura : (Finger) Scratched Saturday

  The Brewers scratched Segura from Saturday's lineup after he injured his fingernail in batting practice

  Alex Gonzalez shifted over to short to cover the position in Segura's absence. The injury should not hold him out for more than a day or two.

• 04/27/13 - 2:52PM ETMark Ellis : (Quad) Out Saturday

  Ellis (quadriceps) is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Brewers.

  Ellis pulled up lame while running to first base in the sixth inning of Saturday's game, and was later diagnosed with a right quad strain. The team hasn't made any moves, so continue to consider Ellis day-to-day. Skip Schumaker will get the start at second base Saturday while A.J. Ellis steps into the two-hole in the batting order.

• 04/27/13 - 2:00PM ETDidi Gregorius : (Head) Says CT Scan Looked Good

  Gregorious (head) said results of a CT scan looked good, but he and the Diamondbacks still have to decide if a stint on the 7-day disabled list is the best course of action, the Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro reports.

  Gregorious is out of the lineup Saturday and can be considered day-to-day, at least for the moment. He seems to have escaped without suffering a relatively serious concussion, but may need more than a few days before returning.

• 04/27/13 - 11:32AM ETJosh Johnson : (Triceps) MRI Shows No Ligament Damage

  Johnson's MRI revealed inflammation but no ligament damage to his ailing right triceps, the National Post reports.

  After he was scratched from his start Friday, Johnson hopes to begin throwing again in the next few days but is unsure of his potential schedule after that date. Thus, it's unclear if he'll be able to take the mound for his upcoming start.

• 04/27/13 - 11:06AM ETChris Heisey : Strained Right Hamstring

  Heisey left Saturday's game with a strained right hamstring.

  The move was deemed precautionary by the team, while Xavier Paul replaced Heisey in left field.

• 04/27/13 - 9:51AM ETKevin Youkilis : (Back) Starting Saturday

  Youkilis (back) is back in the Yankees' lineup Saturday against Toronto, ESPN Deportes reports.

  After missing the past six games due to tightness in his lower back, Youkilis will bat fifth and man first base Saturday, thereby avoiding a potential (and perhaps expected) DL stint. Barring a setback, he appears poised to stay in the starting lineup and build upon a .279 average, two homers, and seven RBI in 61 at-bats this season.

• 04/27/13 - 8:28AM ETRyan Zimmerman : (Hamstring) Could Return Friday

  Zimmerman (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment Monday and is expected to return to the lineup Friday against Pittsburgh, Adam Kilgore of The Washington Post reports.

  Once Zimmerman returns, it will be interesting to see if Anthony Rendon is optioned back to the minors, although the latter could make his case over the next week or so by showing more life at the plate than he has to this point.

• 04/27/13 - 4:42AM ETDidi Gregorius : Leaves Game After Beaning

  Gregorius was 1-for-2 before being forced to leave the game after being hit in the head with a pitch in the seventh inning during the Diamondbacks' loss to the Rockies on Friday.

  It was a scary moment as Gregorius was on his back for a few moments but did get up and walk off the field under his own power. He suffered a contusion to the right temple and will undergo further tests. Consider him day-to-day right now, and don't expect him to be in the lineup Saturday.

• 04/26/13 - 2:02PM ETDesmond Jennings : Sitting Friday

  Jennings is not in the starting lineup Friday against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

  Jennings will take a seat for the first time all season while Sam Fuld mans center field and Matt Joyce leads off against right-hander Jake Peavy. Look for Jennings to be back in there Saturday.

• 04/26/13 - 1:38PM ETShane Victorino : (Back) Out Again Friday

  Victorino (back) is not in the lineup Friday, but manager John Farrell said the issue is not to the point of requiring a DL stint, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

  Victorino will miss a second straight game Friday after leaving Wednesday's game with an aggravation of a back injury that began troubling the 32-year-old late last week. It sounds like he'll avoid a trip to the disabled list, so continue to consider Victorino day-to-day until there's indication otherwise.

• 04/26/13 - 12:24PM ETMatt Adams : (Oblique) Lands On DL

  The Cardinals placed Adams (oblique) on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

  Adams has sat out a few days with the oblique, and the Cardinals will give him a bit more time to recover without taking up a roster spot. Since Adams has not played in a game since Sunday, the Cardinals were able to backdate his DL placement to April 22. Jermaine Curtis was called up from Triple-A Memhis to take Adams' place on the roster.

• 04/26/13 - 7:04AM ETBrian McCann : (Shoulder) Starting Rehab Assignment Friday

  McCann (shoulder) will begin his rehab assignment Friday at Low-A Rome.

  The duration of the assignment is not immediately clear, especially considering that McCann was slowed by soreness in his wrist while working his way back from offseason shoulder surgery.

• 04/26/13 - 6:53AM ETJosh Johnson : Scratched with Triceps Tightness

  Johnson has been scratched from his scheduled start Friday with triceps tightness.

  Aaron Laffey will start in his place, but given Johnson's lengthy injury history, there is more concern here than there might be with other pitchers facing a seemingly minor ailment. There's no immediate word yet regarding specific tests on tap, but perhaps an MRI will be performed in the near future at least as a precaution.
