Bud Fowler forms the independent Page Fence Giants in Adrian, Mich. The team plays all 130 games on the road but travels the country in a custom-made railroad car with sleeping quarters, a cook and porter, and the team's name emblazoned on the sides of the car.
In his only minor league season, 19-year-old pitcher George Wilson goes 29-4 with 280 strikeouts in 298 innings for Adrian of the Michigan State League.
