Tom Seaver won the Cy Young Award as the No. 1 pitcher for the World Series champion Miracle Mets in 1969. The Mets' first superstar, Seaver won two more Cy Young awards, in 1973 and 1975, before he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds in 1977. After retiring as a player in 1986, Seaver became an announcer for the New York Yankees. Seaver, now 53, is a spokesman for Chase Manhattan Bank. He lives with his family in California.
