He finished his career with a major league-record 4,256 hits. Banned from baseball in 1989 for allegedly betting on the sport while working as the Reds' manager, Rose is ineligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame. Now 55, Rose is the host of a syndicated radio talk show and owns the Pete Rose Ball Park Cafe in Boca Raton, Fla.
