Sportsman of the Year


 

  S o there is obviously still some hunger, still a bit more for him to accomplish. Then we shall see if he can turn around and walk away, throwing one last wink back at where he has been the very best. Whatever, anyway, Ray Leonard will never work an undercard.

In 1981, Sugar Ray Leonard became the undisputed welterweight champion of the world after knocking out Tommy Hearns in the 14th round of their title bout. Leonard was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 1995. At age 45, he lives in Los Angeles and occasionally does commentary for boxing matches on HBO.
