Super Bowl XIX
San Francisco 38, Miami 16
MVP: QB Joe Montana, San Francisco
Dolphin Dan Marino entered this game having re-written the NFL single season record book for quarterbacks, but it was Montana who dominated this matchup of the league's two premiere quarterbacks. Marino was 29 of 50 for 318 yards, but threw only one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Meanwhile, Montana was magical, completing 24 of 35 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns. Roger Craig caught two touchdown passes and rushed for a third, including two in San Francisco's decisive 21 point second quarter.
