Super Bowl XXI
New York Giants 39, Denver 20
MVP: QB Phil Simms, New York
The Giants concluded a commanding playoff run that saw them outscore their three playoff opponents by a combined 82 points, including their second half romp against the outmanned Broncos. Denver led 10-9 at the half, but New York scored 30 points after the break to seal their first title since 1956. Simms was dazzling, completing 22 of his 25 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns. Simms, who was booed by Giant fans when New York drafted him in 1979, said after the game, "I've never played better." Who could argue?

Giants quarterback Phil Simms was dazzling against the Broncos, but only slightly more so than the New York defense.
