Ever since 27-year-old rookie righthander Babe Adams won Games 1, 5 and 7 for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1909 World Series, complete-game victories by rookies in the postseason have been rare. The latest occurred on Sunday when Marlins righthander Livan Hernandez (right) three-hit the Braves in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series.
