OLYMPIA FIELDS: Wondering why the USGA chose the Chicago-area club as the site of the 2003 U.S. Open rather than Merion? Guess which course paid its dues by hosting the 1997 Senior Open. PRICING TIGER: A three-day ticket to last week's Tiger Woods Invitational in Japan cost $490. BIG MOMMA: JoAnne Carner, 58, finished 161st on the LPGA money list, with earnings of $13,344 in 10 starts.
