Miner, a senior third baseman at Southern Maine, set a Division III consecutive-game-hitting-streak record when he hit safely for the 35th straight game during the Huskies' 15-1 College World Series-clinching win over Wooster (Ohio). Miner batted .397 with 14 home runs and 64 RBIs in 48 games.

Alesha, a senior at Central High, won the girls' 100-meter hurdles in 14.54 seconds at the Class 4A state track and field championships, becoming the 16th girl in Oklahoma history to win the same event in four consecutive years. Her showing helped the Braves to a second-place finish.

Detweiler, 32, broke the state record for total scratch pinfall with a combined 2,384 in singles, doubles and team events for a 264.889 average at the Maryland State Bowling Championships. His total is the second-highest all-events scratch score at an American Bowling Congress-sanctioned event.

Jordan, 18, won the men's 10-meter air rifle championship with a two-day score of 1,283.9 out of a possible 1,309 points at the USA Shooting National Championships, defeating five former Olympians in the process. He also won the junior men's titles in the air and 3x40 rifle events.

Ellie and Huntley, senior tennis players at Huntington High and Chapel Hill High, respectively, each won consecutive state singles titles. Ellie won the all-class crown with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Charleston Catholic sophomore Lauren Haddix. Ellie was 32-0 in singles while leading Huntington to a third straight state team championship. She will attend West Virginia. Huntley won the Class 4A crown with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Fayetteville Terry Sanford High senior David Cheatwood. Huntley, 58-0 in two years of singles play at Chapel Hill, led the Tigers to the Class 4A dual-match title. He will play at Virginia.
