BURLINGTON, WASH.
Anthony, 18, and Kelli, 17, won their divisions at the American Junior Golf Association's Polo Golf Junior Open amateur tournament at Langdon Farms club in Aurora, Ore. Anthony sank a two-foot birdie putt on the first hole of sudden death to beat Jeff Quinney, 18, of Eugene, Ore., and win the boys' division after shooting a three-under-par 210 for 54 holes. It was Anthony's first AJGA title. In the girls' division Kelli shot a seven-under-par 206 to beat Taya Battistella, 17, of Bend, Ore., by 12 strokes. It was her second AJGA event championship of the season and the fifth of her career.

Heppner

  Al Heppner
COLUMBIA, MD.
Heppner, a senior at Wisconsin-Parkside, won the NAIA championship in the five-kilometer race walk at Life College in Marietta, Ga. His time of 20:07.38 set a meet record, bettering by 32 seconds the mark established by Wisconsin-Parkside's Tim Seamon in 1995.

LAGUNA HILLS, CALIF.
Milo, a senior first baseman on the University of San Diego softball team, played every inning (1,468) of every game (206) during her four years. She led the Toreros in batting this year for the third time, with a .402 mark in 58 games, and also had team highs in hits (70), RBIs (40) and total bases (81).

MAITLAND, FLA.
Alexander, 9, of the Blue Dolfins of Orlando swim club, won five gold medals and a silver in the 10-and-under age group at the Florida Junior Olympics. He has won 29 high-point trophies in the past two years while swimming fast enough to qualify for junior nationals in nine events in the 11-12 division.

Hartshorn

  Gordon Hartshorn
GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS
Hartshorn, 58, ran a marathon a week for 74 consecutive weeks. He raced in 24 states and six Canadian provinces or territories during the streak, which began in February 1996 in Louisiana and ended in July on Baffin Island, 450 miles north of the Arctic Circle. He has completed 224 marathons.
