GERMANTOWN, TENN.

Gossett, 18, shot a tournament-record 13-under-par 275 to beat Wil Collins, 18, of Rapid City, S.Dak., by five strokes to win the Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colo. He joined Billy Andrade and Tiger Woods as the event's only two-time boy champs.

PERKASIE, PA.

Moros, 20, and Silva, 20, won the women's and the men's divisions at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's summer championships. Moros, seeded second, upset top seed Julie Scott, 21, of Austin and Stanford, 7-6, 7-5, to win the women's singles title. She also teamed with Scott to win the women's doubles crown. Moros will be a senior at Texas, where she plays No. 1 singles. Silva, seeded third, beat top seed Eddie Jacques, 22, of Huntsville, Ala., and the University of Georgia, 7-5, 7-5, to win the men's singles championship. Silva will be a junior at Northwestern, where he plays No. 2 singles.

SPRING, TEXAS

Wilkinson, 19, won the Athlete Performance Award at the national outdoor diving championships after becoming the first diver since two-time Olympic bronze medalist Mary Ellen Clark in 1994 to win the three-meter springboard and the 10-meter platform at a U.S. championships.

Curt, 16, a 6'8" middle blocker, was named MVP of the USA Volleyball junior championships after leading the Los Angeles Athletic Club to the division title for 16-year-olds. Curt had 156 kills, 30 blocks, 33 digs and four aces as his team rolled to a 12-0 record at the tournament.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.

Garcia, 18, is the first female to receive an athletic scholarship to The Citadel, for which this year she will be a one-woman team in cross-country and in track and field. At 71st High she twice qualified for the North Carolina cross-country championships, running a personal-best 20:28 for the 5-km as a junior.
