 In the May 15 issue of Sports Illustrated, senior writer E.M. Swift looks at the
impact of soaring ticket prices on the sports landscape, and describes how new
facilities, high salaries, uncompetitive teams, television and general apathy
have increasingly caused fans to stay home.
The chart below, compiled by Team Marketing Report, shows the average price for
a family of four to attend one game of each team in the four major pro leagues. (Markets were determined by the 21 regional covers SI printed for this issue.)
The price includes four midrange seats, parking, four sodas, four hot dogs, two
