  NOMINEE THE SKINNY
Overrated Ferrari and McLaren Yes, they won every F1 race, but the technological and fiscal advantage they have is ridiculous.
Underrated CART What a season they had. They gave us the best race of any circuit (at Michigan) and the best championship battle of the year.
Annoying The CART-IRL split It's worse than Ross and Rachel on Friends. Just get back together already.
Breakthrough Dale Earnhardt Jr. He tied the NASCAR record for earliest career win, became the first driver in 2000 to win twice, and was cool enough to be featured in Rolling Stone.
Uplifting Kyle Petty He continued driving after his son died, but did so in Adam's car to keep his memory alive. As classy as they come.
MVP Jimmy Makar Bobby Labonte's crew chief made sure his man never had a bad car. Co-MVP honors go to Michael Schumacher. He won first three races of year, struggled midseason, then finished strong to give Ferrari its first world champ in more than two decades.
Storyline to follow in 2001 Dodge's return to Winston Cup With Ray Evernham running the show, the new factory on the block could be a major player.
