Randy Johnson vs. Curt Schilling
Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling put on a display in the 2001 baseball
season that won't soon be forgotten. After leading the four-year-old
Arizona Diamondbacks to the playoffs, the pair somehow kicked its
pitching into an even higher gear, going a combined 9-1 in the
postseason. To cap it all off, Schilling and Johnson joined forces in
Game 7 of the World Series to eliminate the three-time defending
champion New York Yankees. In the 3-2 D'Backs victory, Schilling tossed
7 1/3 innings of two-run ball, while Johnson closed out the contest with
1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Though it's difficult to separate
this dynamic duo that earned co-Sportsman of the Year honors, here's a
look at how two of baseball's best stack up against each other.
