Former feature runner that moved into a starting fullback position last year as a senior. Finished the season with only 23/54/2.3/3 on the ground but caught 14/190/13.6/2. Junior totals were 65/308/4.7/4 rushing, with 15/149/9.9/1 as a receiver. Redshirted in '99 after tearing a knee ligament during the first game of the season, after backing-up the prior year.
Big, powerful athlete that must learn to do the little things if he's to succeed. As a ballcarrier he displays vision, patience and adequate footwork. Keeps his feet moving up the field, strong and lowers his shoulders into opponents, picking up yardage off initial contact. Solid receiver out of the backfield and displays good eye/hand coordination, looking the pass in and catching the ball away from his body. Stays square blocking, strong at the point of attack and walls off opponents from the play. Does not accelerate into his blocks, gathers himself into opponents and slow getting out in front of his running back. Hesitant picking up his assignments and really does not attack his blocks or dominate the way he is capable. Wants to carry the ball rather than block for the ballcarrier. Does not display the quickness or a burst you'd want in your feature back and must really pick up the intensity when the ball is not in his hands. If he does, a solid player at the next level. Late Third Round.
