Three-year starter that was an All-American and All-Conference selection as a senior when he led the team in receiving with 61/753/13.3/6. Posted 33/443/13.4/1 his junior year and was a second team All-Conference choice. Came into his own as a sophomore when he totaled 17/258/15.2/3 during seven regular season games.
Active pass catching tight end that makes big plays in both the long and short field. Quick and fluid releasing off the line of scrimmage into his pass routes, fast and beats safeties down the field. Good eye/hand coordination, extends and plucks the high throw out of the air. Catches the ball away from his body looking the pass into his hands and reliable. Moves well laterally and consistently finds the open spot in the defense, making himself an available target for the quarterback. Strong running after the catch and works to pick up positive yardage. Adjusts to the errant throw and stays focused throughout the action. Efficient when asked to block; quick off the snap, blocks low with leverage and gets his hands into opponents, staying square and turning them out blocking for the run. Also displays footwork in pass protection. Lacks blocking bulk and strength. Could be an exceptional offensive threat at the next level if put in the proper scheme and will be a very productive pass catcher. Mid First Round.
