Three-year starter that finished with 57.1%/2,935/22/13 passing his senior season. Junior numbers were 58.9%/2,833/24/14 after 60.4%/3,410/25/24 as a redshirt sophomore.

Nice-sized pocket passer that made the move up draft boards the past three months. Sets up with solid footwork and good ball placement, patient in the pocket and buys time for his receivers. Displays good field vision, looks off the safety and scans the field. Goes to his underneath receivers or takes what the defense gives him. Senses pressure, holds the ball to the last minute or finds the open wideout on the field. Quick releasing the ball, throws with an over-the-top delivery, following through on his passes. Places his throws nicely, hits receivers in stride and puts touch on the ball when necessary. Quick setting up and releasing the ball off the three step drop and loses nothing throwing on the run. Tough, stands in the pocket and takes a hit in order to get the pass off or pulls the ball down and runs with it if nothing is available. Does not force his throws or make bad decisions when pressured. Not mobile, elusive and cannot escape the rush. Has difficulty making many plays outside the pocket. Lacks the precise accuracy and at times directs his throws a little too much. Displayed all these skills at the Senior Bowl then went on and had effective workouts at the combine. Needs some time to develop his skills and pass placement but should be an effective pocket passing signal caller at the next level. Mid Second Round.
