Four-year starter that played linebacker in college but projects to safety at the next level. All-Conference selection as a senior after totaling 78/10/3. Second team All-League choice as a junior after 88 tackles and 7 interceptions, three coming in one game against Hawaii. 67 tackles as a redshirt sophomore when he was also given serious All-Conference consideration.
Nice-sized, quick thinking defender best in the box. Reads opposing quarterbacks, diagnoses plays and takes good angles to the action. Active, constantly around the ball and works to make the play. Displays decent footwork and a back-pedal covering tight ends, gets the inside position and adequate ball skills in a small area. Never asked to play in space, does not show the great range nor is he an explosive or sudden player. Intelligent and puts himself in a position to make plays either on defense or special teams which will help him at the next level. Late Sixth Round.
