Four-year starter who moved in with the first unit midway through his freshman campaign. Injured his shoulder as a senior and played in only eight games, finishing with 64.4%/2,215/18/5 as a passer. Second team All-Conference choice as a junior when his numbers were 62.9%/3,171/22/17. Has a long history of injuries that have sidelined him.
Undersized quarterback whose durability has been of concern. Quick setting up in the pocket, sells his play-action passes and displays the ability to avoid the rush. Gets outside the tackle and makes plays on the move, always seeing the field. Finds the open fide out, takes what the defense gives him and throws the ball away rather than taking a sack. Leads receivers well in the short field and does not force his throws. Quick setting up and throwing off a three step drop. Displays a solid intermediate range passing arm but cannot drive the ball downfield and passes lack zip. Not overly patient in the pocket and does a lot of gathering and moving around before releasing the pass which slows his delivery. Touchdown-to-interception ratio has been nothing to write home about. Could end up as a third-string quarterback after he spends a year or two in Europe. Free Agent.
