Tremendous athlete yet to translate those skills fully into the quarterback position. Displays solid footwork setting up in the pocket, elusive and escapes the rush making plays with his legs. Fluid throwing motion and has a big arm; drives the ball down the field, throws beautiful spirals and puts zip on his shorter passes. Somewhat patient in the pocket but indecisive, does not see the field nor does he find the open wideout. Rarely buys time for his receivers, late releasing his outs and does not place his passes well. Overall accuracy is average at best and his touchdown-to-interception ratio has never been anything to brag about. Stares down his primary target and forces his throws. Development has been hampered by coaching and coordinator changes in the Carolina program the past three-years. Biggest problem is the inability to see the field and his unwillingness take what the defense gives him. Must learn to improve and accept the short passing game rather than consistently fire the ball 20-30 yards downfield. A lot of untapped talent that, if harnessed, could reap big rewards down the road. Practice squad prospect that would benefit from a season or two in Europe. Late Sixth Round.
