Versatile offensive prospect that started the past two seasons as a running back, also seeing extensive action as both a receiver and return specialist. Led the team in rushing last season totaling 250/1,361/5.4/13 while catching 48/408/8.5/3. Averaged 16/7.8/0 returning punts and 6/20.0/0 on kick returns. First team All-League selection in the former Big West Conference as a junior and also received All-American notoriety after totaling 242/1,381/5.5/13 on the ground, 47/592/12.6/2 as a receiver and averaged 21/8.7/0 returning punts and 22/24.1/0 as a kick returner. Set an NCAA single game all-purpose yardage record combining for 578 yards against New Mexico State in 2000. All-Conference return specialist as a true sophomore when he averaged 24/15.0/0 returning punts.
Productive collegian that works hard and can be placed at any number of positions on the offensive side of the ball. Patient runner, waits for his blocks to develop, finds the hole and displays excellent field vision. Will pick and choose his spots, uses an effective straight arm and displays the ability to slide off blocks. Works his runs, keeps his feet moving forward and picks up tough yardage. Looks the pass into his hands as a receiver and keeps the play in bounds running after the catch. Does a fine job using all these skills as a return specialist. Lacks both speed and agility, cannot turn the corner nor is he an elusive runner that makes defenders miss. Did have a problem with ball security as a senior. Really did not stand out in the post season like a prospect of his caliber needed to and for all his great college production may lack the special qualities to be really effective at the next level. Could be a situational runner but will have to impact on special teams in a camp to make the final cut. Free Agent.
