Former All-Conference and All-American selection hampered a shoulder injury during his senior campaign. Finished the year rushing for 172/757/4.4/8, while catching 13/107/8.2. Junior running totals were 293/1,914/6.5/22, with 15/120/8.0 receiving, a year in which he finished fifth in voting for the Heisman Trophy. Sophomore totals on the ground were 306/1,128/3.7/3, while his receiving numbers were 16/184/11.5. Has led Northwestern in rushing each of the past four seasons.

Tough, hard-nosed back with great running instincts and vision. Sees the field, patient, and will pick or choose his spots, waiting for blocks to develop. Runs with forward lean, finds the running lanes and displays footwork in a small area. Works his runs, keeps his feet moving forward and uses an effective straight arm. Not big, strong and benefits from a spread offensive system. Lacks a burst through the hole, elusiveness and not one to set up defenders or make them miss. Not a natural receiver out of the backfield nor is he going to pick up big yardage after the catch. Did what was asked of him and showed great football intelligence but production numbers may be more of a result of the system rather than his natural skills. Needs to pop off some good workouts prior to the draft and his shoulder must pass physical exams if he's to sneak into the later frames. Free Agent.
