Four-year starter that made an impact as a true freshman. All-Conference selection the past three-years and Big 10 Defensive Lineman of the Year as both a junior and senior. Numbers last season were 69/16.5/8, after 45/10/6 as a junior and 47/9/7 his sophomore campaign.

Quick, explosive lineman that can be used both at defensive tackle or left defensive end. Tremendous first step off the snap, stays low playing with leverage and consistently double teamed or focused on by opponents. Uses his hands to keep linemen off him, slides off blocks laterally and displays playing speed both in a straight line or laterally. Fast to the flanks making plays against the ballcarrier and pursues to the action with speed. Goes hard, works his way through the traffic and effectively redirects or adjusts his body to the oncoming ballcarrier. Displays a quick and fluid change of direction and the ability to immediately alter his angle of attack. Plays with balance, keeps his feet driving forward and get a lot of up field momentum going. Great closing burst and defends the run or rushes the passer with equal effectiveness. Not big, overpowering and wears down over the course of a game. Did not look like he was in top football shape at the start of the past two seasons nor does he display the great football instincts. Looked tremendous during his sophomore campaign but may have leveled off since. A lot of upside potential and a defensive lineman that impacts a game from a variety of positions. Must get into the weight room and develop his body and become stronger but a defensive lineman that will be drafted relatively high and should make an impact at the next level. Early First round.
