Three-year starter that was an All-Conference selection last year after totaling 67/3/13. Posted better numbers than All-American teammate Jamar Fletcher two seasons ago registering 69/5/2, though he did have the benefit of playing in two more games. 30/1/8 as a sophomore.
Fast, tough defensive back that was productive throughout college. Smooth transitioning off the line to run downfield with receivers, stays with opponents out of their breaks displaying a great break on the pass and excellent closing speed. Positions himself to defend the throw, adjusts in mid air and constantly getting a hand in to deflect away the ball. Fast corner rarely challenged by opposing quarterbacks. Supports the run but not big or strong at the point of attack and beaten out by bigger receivers in pass coverage. Plays back on his heels occasionally, shows hesitation in his game and slow locating the ball at times. Broke a bad habit of constantly face guarding opponents during his junior campaign when the arrow seemed to be pointing up but returned to prior form last year. Needs to get back on track; had a nice senior campaign but not the one expected or the one that would have pushed him into the first 32 picks. Mid Second Round.
