Brother Stan played offensive tackle for the University of Texas and was a former first round pick of the Chicago Bears. All-Conference selection as a senior when he led the team in tackles, totaling 111/26/6.5/0/5 for the season. Garnered some All-American consideration. Again, All-Conference selection as a junior leading the team in tackles, totaling 88/9/0 for the year. 68/4/1.5 as a sophomore when he started half the season.

Tough, heady linebacker that plays with great instincts and intensity. Breaks down well, quick reading or anticipating plays and explosive moving up the field to fill the gaps in run defense. Forces the action, likes to mix it up and constantly around the ball. Super smart and disciplined in all aspects of his game. Short, slow and best moving in a straight line. Lacks speed to the flanks, overall range and has difficulty defending either backs or tight ends in pass coverage. Had a sensational combine workout running faster then anyone expected. Originally considered just a two-down defender but based off his performance in Indianapolis now also projects to the weak-side and if he improves his pass cover skills could be starting by the end of his rookie season. Brains, approach and now athleticism move him into the first day. Early Third Round.
