LeVar Fisher
Four-year starter and multiple award winner throughout his college career. First team All-Conference selection the past two seasons after being named both All-American and ACC Defensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2000. Led the team in tackles last year as a senior finishing with 147/4/2/0/2. Topped the conference the prior season totaling 166/15/5/1/8. Sophomore numbers were 104/12/3.5/0/1 after 74 tackles as a true freshman. Has been used at both inside and outside linebacker.

Smart and instinctive defender constantly around the action. Quick reading or anticipating the play, flows nicely to the action and takes good angles to the ballcarrier. Scrapes well laterally, makes plays out to the flanks and a technique tackler that squares into the opponent and wraps up. Quick moving up the field, aggressive and looks to get involved in the action. Gets depth on his pass drops and displays solid footwork in coverage. Rarely off his feet but small, slow regaining his balance off the initial hit and has difficulty taking blocks head-on. Not fast getting to the flanks nor does he show the great lateral range in pass coverage. A little small to play in the middle and only average cover skills to be placed on the weak side. Instincts and intangibles are his greatest assets. May eventually grow into a full-time starter though it could take some time. Mid Third Round.
