First team All-Conference selection as a junior when he led the team in tackles, totaling 119/5/2/0/2. Also received All-Academic and All-American honors last season. Second team All-Conference choice and again an All-Academic selection as a sophomore, when he initially led the team in tackles finishing the year with 113/9/3/0/2. Broke into the starting lineup early in the year as a true freshman and totaled 68 tackles for the season.

Disciplined linebacker constantly around the ball. Quick reading or diagnosing the action, moves up the field to fill the gaps in run defense and flows laterally to the ballcarrier. Finds his way through the traffic, takes good angles to the action and wraps up tackling. Does not bite on play-action passes and stays with his coverage assignments getting adequate depth on his pass drops. Not big or fast, overall game lacks explosion and he shows minimal speed getting to the flanks. Slow shedding blocks once engaged with the opponent, has tackles broken on occasion and effective pass covering in only a small area. Active college linebacker that may have shot the gun a little too early leaving for the draft. Lacks the great size/speed numbers. Alhough he makes a lot of tackles on the field, he does not show any outstanding single skill that would warrant an early round selection. Late Fourth Round.
