Two-year starter that briefly spent time playing running back. Second team All-Conference selection last season when his numbers were 49/11.5/6 after 37/9/2 as a sophomore. Started four games as a true freshman, leading the team in sacks with seven. Tore a ligament in his right knee at the end of the 2000 season.

Athletic prospect that can play several spots on the defensive side of the ball. Quick off the snap with a nice first step, plays with forward lean, leverage and balance. Displays a good inside move, quick and fluid changing direction and redirects to the ballcarrier well. Fast rushing the edge, displays speed pursuing the action to the flanks and makes plays in every direction. Deceptively strong, gets a lot of upfield momentum going and stays within his pass rush angle moving up the field. Has trouble if opponents run in his direction, turned out by bigger lineman and slow getting off blocks once engaged. Not instinctive nor is he quick locating the ball. Tested at linebacker during the combine and displayed adequate skills and ability playing off the line of scrimmage. Could be used as a pass rusher on the right side or asked to drop off the line of scrimmage in zone blitz situations and may even be able to play left defensive end as he physically matures. Would have liked to see him stay in school and be a top prospect in 2003 but will still be highly sought out this April. Early Second Round.
