Prop 48 player that started the past three seasons. All-Conference selection as a senior when he totaled 48/8.5/4.5, though he played most of the year with a severely sprained ankle. SEC Defensive Player of the Year and All-American in 2000 after 70/11/12, numbers which garnered him the Outland Trophy. Made an impact as a freshman registering 43/5/4.0.

Overpowering force that consistently impacts the game making plays behind the line of scrimmage. Explosive athlete with great bull-rushing strength, pursuit speed and one that makes plays either laterally or up the field. Relentless chasing the ballcarrier, effective defending the run or rushing the passer and even does a fine job when playing in space off the line of scrimmage. Gets tremendous momentum going and looks like a runaway locomotive charging up the field. Agile, redirects to the oncoming action and defeats several blocks on his way to the ballcarrier. At times looks like a man amongst boys but suffered mightily last season with his ankle injury and was not consistently able to stay in the lineup. Does not always play with great leverage nor does he keep his pads low, many feel because of lower back problems. Could also stand to improve his hand technique. When all is said and done, an impact defensive lineman that can be used at either tackle or end. At the top of his game, a great prospect. Early First Round.
