Former nose tackle who moved to the offensive line and has started at left tackle the past two seasons. Bench presses close to 550 pounds, squats more than 700 and has reportedly benched 225 pounds 51 times, though it was with an arched back and hips removed from the bench. Officially knocked out 37 repetitions on the bench for scouts during his Pro Day.
Mammoth and powerful offensive lineman best in confined quarters. Wide body that takes up a lot of room, displays quickness off the snap and immediately gets his hands into opponents. Strong in his upper body, controls defenders once engaged in a block and does a solid job keeping them away. Displays some ability to shuffle and slide his feet, keeps them active throughout the play and manhandles or engulfs lesser opponents. Moves better than you'd think for such a big man. Turns defenders out run blocking or anchors in pass protection. Looks almost top heavy and built low to the ground. Does not play with great balance, a bit stiff and does not display the top blocking range required to protect the blind side. Stepped up and did a fine job at the Blue/Gray Game and then filled in at the Senior Bowl. Participated in a single practice in which he looked solid but suffered a concussion and left Mobile. Not the finished product but his size, strength and tenacity give him the upper hand to make it at the next level. Early Fifth Round.
