Scott Fujita | OLB | California | Pacific-10 Conference
Selected by Kansas City Chiefs in round 5, pick 8 (143 overall)
Height Weight 40 Grade
6'5½ 248 4.63 3.57
Former walk-on who started the past two seasons. All-Academic and second team All-Conference player as a senior. Finished the year with 60/6/3/0/3 after 41/13/4 during his junior campaign.

Hard-working, intelligent defender who consistently improved his game. Breaks down well, plays with forward lean and a disciplined linebacker that stays with his assignments. Quick reading or anticipating the action, pass covers well in a small area and a solid athlete. Holds his ground against blocks but slow shedding once engaged with the opponent, lacks overall quickness, speed and acceleration, showing only minimal skills in pass coverage. Does not get depth on his drops, has difficulty staying with slower tight ends and lacks the pursuit speed moving to the flanks. Used up at the line of scrimmage more than anything else the past two years and best in the box. To his credit had a great athletic workout at the combine, which must makes us re-think our original stance on this prospect. Has some growth potential and could develop as a solid at strong-side linebacker down the road. Late Fifth Round.
