NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The New England Patriots wrapped up Super Bowl preparations with a quick walkthrough and a little family fun at the Superdome on Saturday.

According to a pool report from the closed workout, the Pats went through a 5-minute walkthrough and then spent an hour strolling around the field and taking pictures.

"Once a year," Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said when asked if it was an unusual Saturday practice. "It was kind of fun today to come around, look at the field and get a lay of the land and take some shots. It's a good experience, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for some of these kids."

Quarterback Drew Bledsoe played catch with his 4-year-old son, Stuart, who was a wearing a jersey with his father's No. 11.

Linebackers Larry Izzo and Ted Johnson got involved as receivers in an impromptu game with some players' children.

Some players took pictures, while others videotaped the scene.

The Patriots also took a team photo that linebacker Bryan Cox suggested was taking too long.

"I hear you. A couple of more, Bryan, and we're done," the photographer said.

Belichick said his team is ready for Sunday's game.

"We think we've covered everything," he said.

He said quarterback Tom Brady's injured left ankle held up well this week.

"He had three good days of practice," Belichick said. "I don't think it'll be a problem."
