NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- New England Patriots left tackle Matt Light limped off the field late in the second quarter of the Super Bowl and was replaced by Grant Williams.

Light was not expected to return.

Light had been bothered by an ankle injury in training camp, but he appeared in 14 games this season, starting 12. He was listed as probable on the team's injury report earlier this week but did not miss any practice for the game against the St. Louis Rams.

In the first quarter, Terrance Shaw was slow getting up after a play, but he returned to the game.
