Selected by Cleveland Browns
Round 4, pick 18 (115 overall)
BIO: First-team All-Conference choice as a senior leading the Hokies on the ground carrying the ball 257 times for 1,325 yards and 22 scores. Caught a career high 11 passes for 126 yards with two scores. Injured his left knee during the opening game of the 2001 season, tearing a ligament and sitting the rest of the campaign. Posted 222-1,207-27 on the ground the prior year when he was an All-Conference selection and shared Big East Player of the Year honors with teammate Michael Vick.

POSITIVES: Well built back with a nice combination of speed and strength in his running. Runs with great lean, has a burst of speed and quick through the hole, displaying the ability to run away from opponents. Elusive, light on his feet and looks like he's gliding. Instantaneously bounces it to the outside, avoiding piles and making defenders miss. Always looking to set up his blocks anywhere on the field. Displays top vision, patience and explosive running outside of tackle. Keeps his feet moving up the field and though not a lot of power, enough to break tackles and pick up yardage off initial contact. Weaves through the traffic, stays on his feet and displays excellent running balance.

NEGATIVES: Besides the knee injury from 2001 had prior problems with the joint which included a scope in 1999. Rarely used as a receiver out of the backfield.

ANALYSIS: Considered a candidate to be the first back selected in the 2002 April Draft but his injury from the prior September halted that thought. Had a nice senior campaign but shared duties with super sophomore Kevin Jones, which took some of the luster off his season. A candidate to be a feature runner at the next level but must regain the momentum he built after the 2000 season and improve his pass catching skills.
