BIO: Three-year starter and much celebrated QB who shared Big East Offensive Player of the Year honors as a senior after completing 56.5 percent of his throws for 3,369 yards, 28 TDs and 12 INTs. 2001 Maxwell Award winner and third in the Heisman Trophy voting after leading the Hurricanes to the national championship with numbers of 57.9 percent-2,652-23-9. Started 11 games as a sophomore totaling 58.4 percent-2,737-25-5 and MVP of the 2001 Sugar Bowl. Three time All-Conference selection and an Academic All Big East choice every season since 2000. Holds school records for total offense, passing yards, passing TDs, and passing completions. POSITIVES: Technically and mentally sound QB that may lack the physical skills for the next level. Stands strong in the pocket sensing the rush, scans the field and finds the open target. Reads the blitz, poised and always displays a good sense of where his receivers are. Natural looking off the safety, sets his feet and throws with an over the top motion. Sells all his fakes, does not make bad choices or force throws. Smartly places shorter passes in front of targets and lets them run to the ball. NEGATIVES: Thinly built and possesses only marginal arm strength. Must put a lot of effort into throws to get velocity on them and usually high of the mark. Cannot drive the ball downfield and long passes float.
