Originally an All-League choice as a junior when he tied for the conference lead in tackles with 107, also posting two INTs and four pass breakups. Used more as a rover than safety at New Mexico State. Awarded All-Academic honors in the past. POSITIVES: Heady defender with a good feel for the position. Reads or anticipates the action, takes good angles to the play and quick getting to the ball carrier. Cognizant, effectively patrols center field and works hard. Squares into tackles and wraps up. NEGATIVES: Lacks closing speed, sideline-to-sideline range and does more chasing than covering against the deep pass.
