BIO: Moved inside to middle linebacker as a senior and posted 120 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and four sacks on his way to being named first team All-Conference. Started every game at outside linebacker as a junior in Vandy’s 34 alignment and credited with 72 tackles and a team high 21/2 sacks. Used on special teams his initial two seasons in the program.
POSITIVES: Hard working defender who does a terrific job QBing the defense. Quick reading or diagnosing the action, chases to get involved and works hard. Forceful up the field, defeats blocks and rarely off his feet. Squares into tackles wrapping up.
NEGATIVES: Best in a straight line and lacks the fluid change of direction or sideline-to-sideline range. Not fast laterally and gets minimal depth on his pass drops.
ANALYSIS: May be best on the inside in a three-four alignment where his area responsibilities are kept to a minimum and he is allowed to flow freely to the ball carrier.
PROJECTION: Early Sixth Round
