Grading System
JARROD PENRIGHT
Position: OLB
Class: Sr
School: Texas A&M
Conference: Big 12
Ht., Wt.: 6'1½, 247
40 Time: 4.72
Grade: 3.41

BIO: Second-team All-Conference choice as a senior after totaling 50 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 91/2 sacks. First-team All Big 12 selection the prior season posting 66-19-10.5 though he struggled with nagging injuries through the season. Never intercepted a pass during the regular season.

POSITIVES: Fierce defender who makes a lot of plays into the opponents backfield. Breaks down well, quick moving up the field and viciously looks to take ball carriers out. Strong at the point, holds his ground against blocks or defeats them on his way to the action.

NEGATIVES: Slow to locate and not the most instinctive or efficient linebacker. Stiff, does not redirect well and hesitant dropping back into coverage.

ANALYSIS: The A&M scheme lines him up in the box or puts him in a three point stance and rarely does anything but send him up the field. Needs a lot of work on his pass cover skills and abilities to make plays in reverse to have any opportunity at the next level. Lack of pure size-speed numbers may discount him from playing over tackle in a three-four alignment.

PROJECTION: Late Sixth Round
